Getting Here and Getting Around
By Air
Kempegowda International Airport is situated about 40 km north of the city and, probably, the easiest way of reaching the city is by taxi. Various cab services are available at the airport: Prepaid Taxi (inside the Arrivals hall), Airport Taxi (just outside the building) and App-based service such as Uber or Ola Cabs.
Alternatively, the KIAS bus service is also available. Routes, schedule and fares can be checked online: www.mybmtc.com
Please note: All trips can be paid for in cash. Debit or credit card can be used for app-related services and metro tokens. Furthermore, a phone based app called a Paytm, is very widely used in India for small and large cashless transactions.
By Train
Bangalore is well connected by train to most cities in India. Bangalore City Railway Station (Code: SBC) is the main railway station serving the city. The train station is well connected by the metro and bus networks to almost all parts of the city. Pre paid taxis and auto rickshaws are also easily available outside the railway station. The closest railway station to the Srishti Campus is the Yelahanka Railway Station. Depending on your train route, certain long distance trains do stop at this station.
Train tickets can be booked at the official website of the Indian Railways: https://www.irctc.co.in
By Bus
Both private and state run bus services provide a very good inter –city bus connectivity to Bangalore. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) provides a high quality of bus services across the country. Tickets can be booked online at their official website: http://www.ksrtc.in/oprs-web/
Alternatively a host of private companies also operate bus services and tickets can be booked at the aggregator site Red Bus: https://www.redbus.in/
Around the City
Auto-rickshaws: Perhaps the most convenient way of getting around the city, especially, in case of short distances is using an autorickshaw, a three-wheeled covered scooters. The route and price should be negotiated directly with the driver. All auto-rickshaws are equipped with a meter and a two-kilometer ride is about 25 INR.
Cabs: Cab services, particularly App-based, have become extremely popular in
Bangalore, especially for longer distances, due to their higher degree of comfort and flexibility. The most popular app-based services are Uber and Ola Cabs.
Apart from that, taxis also can be booked at the hotel, conference venue or over the phone:
